The Invisible Way to Straighten Your Teeth

Consider Invisalign or 3M Clarity clear aligners from Jensen Orthodontic Arts to get the beautiful straight teeth you deserve — without braces.

What Are Clear Aligners?

Aligners are a type of orthodontic treatment that uses clear, removable trays to gradually move your teeth into the desired position. They are custom-made for each patient and are made of a clear plastic material that makes them virtually invisible.

Aligners like Invisalign and 3M Clarity have quickly grown to dominate the industry for a variety of great reasons.

What Are Some Different Types of Clear Aligners?

At Jensen Orthodontic Arts, we offer two types of clear aligners: Invisalign and 3M Clarity Aligners.

Clear Aligners

Invisalign

One of the first of its kind, Invisalign is a popular brand of clear aligners that has been around since 1997. They are made of a patented thermoplastic material called SmartTrack, which gives you a comfortable fit and better control of tooth movement.

Invisalign aligners are typically worn for 20-22 hours a day and are changed every one to two weeks as your teeth gradually move into place.

3M Clarity Aligners

3M Clarity aligners are another brand that offers similar benefits to Invisalign. They are made of a clear plastic material that is custom-fit to your teeth and designed to be worn for 22 hours a day.

3M Clarity aligners use advanced technology to provide more precise tooth movements, resulting in faster and more effective treatment. Similar to Invisalign, these aligners are typically changed every two to three weeks as your teeth move into place.

How Do Clear Aligners Work?

Clear aligners work by applying gentle pressure to your teeth, gradually moving them into the desired position. Dr. Jensen will take digital impressions of your teeth to create a 3D model of your bite. Then he’ll create a custom treatment plan that maps out the movement of your teeth from start to finish.

The customized plan ensures that your smile is perfectly coordinated to bring out its best elements.

Each set of aligners will move your teeth a small amount, usually about 0.25 to 0.33 millimeters per tray. As you progress through your treatment, you'll switch to a new set of aligners every few weeks. Over time, your teeth will gradually move into the desired position.

What Orthodontic Issues Do Clear Aligners Address

Clear aligners can address a wide range of orthodontic issues, including:

  • Overcrowded teeth
  • Spacing issues
  • Bite problems, such as overbite, underbite, crossbite, and open bite

Dr. Jensen will determine whether clear aligners are the right treatment for your specific orthodontic needs.

Why Do Patients Love Clear Aligners?

Invisalign and 3M Clarity clear aligners offer several benefits over traditional metal braces. With our clear aligners, you’ll enjoy:

A Low Profile

Patients love the discreet appearance of aligners. This is especially appealing to adults who may be self-conscious about wearing braces in professional or social settings.

Removability

Another huge benefit of clear aligners is their removability. Since clear aligners are removable, eating and cleaning your teeth is easier than with other options, and there are no dietary restrictions like there are with braces.

Simply remove the aligners when eating, brush and floss as usual, then pop them back in.

Comfort

Patients love the smooth plastic material and find it much more comfortable to wear than metal brackets and wires. The aligners won't cause irritation or discomfort from rubbing against your cheeks and lips like traditional braces can.

This is especially important for athletes or musicians who need to be able to play their instruments or sports without the risk of getting hit in the mouth with metal brackets or wires.

Who Should Get Clear Aligners?

Clear aligners are a great option for many people who are looking to straighten their teeth. They are particularly popular among adults who may be self-conscious about wearing traditional metal braces.

Clear aligners are also a good option for teens who are responsible enough to wear them for the required amount of time each day. However, clear aligners may not be the best option for everyone.

Dr. Jensen will be able to determine if clear aligners are the right treatment for your specific orthodontic needs.
