Do I have to wear braces?
The most common time for orthodontic treatment is between the ages of 11 and 15, and for good reason! By age 12, most or all of the permanent teeth have erupted and are in place, and crooked teeth, gaps and bad bites can easily be detected. These problems rarely correct themselves, so this is when most parents decide to seek orthodontic treatment.
Are braces cool?
This is also a good time for orthodontic treatment because many negative associations of braces are not present. Many children in this age range undergo orthodontic treatment, and most kids are able to simply continue living their lives as normal.
How long will I have to wear braces?
Children at this age are growing rapidly, and orthodontist can take advantage of a young person’s growth spurt to help shape the bite and teeth correctly. Additionally, preteens and teens at this age have high metabolisms, which can help shorten overall treatment time and reduce the discomfort of orthodontic treatment. Dr. Jensen will let you know how long your treatment plan take.
Can I get “clear” orthodontics?
Absolutely! We offer 3M™ Clarity™ clear ceramic brackets at no additional cost, as well as 3M Clarity clear removable aligners and Invisalign® clear aligners, so you can feel comfortable throughout your orthodontic treatment.
